Making The Right Choice
When considering WHO will do your hormone replacement – you want a LEADER in the field. With that in mind, New Leaf Wellness has done over 50,000 hormone replacement treatments. Always ask the provider you are considering how many patients they have treated and what their training is for this type of treatment. Are you getting your hormones treated by a doctor who best treats colds and common illnesses, or one who specializes in how hormones interact with your body and has helped thousands of people just like you get better?
Hormones play an important role in the balance of our lives. The fact is, most adults begin significant loss of hormones after their early 20′s.
Childbirth, menopause, and time also alter women’s hormone levels. Over time, you begin to notice your body changing – sometimes severe changes can occur. Hot flashes, night sweats, depression, mood swings, decreased sex drive, low energy, lack of sleep and other symptoms are common with depleted hormones.
In some people, the depletion is so severe there is no measurable amount of hormones detected in their blood tests. Basically, they are empty.
Options for Treating Hormone Depletion
What do we do about it? Is there a way for our bodies to restart the engine that keeps our hormones balanced? Unfortunately, there isn’t. BUT… our therapy is personally designed to restore and rebalance your hormones to the levels appropriate for your life and health; not just the levels for a mid-life or senior adult. Our hormones are derived from natural plants. This means they are not synthetic like Premarin which is made from conjugated horse urine. We do not offer or use synthetic estradiol, progesterone, or testosterone hormones in our therapy.
We always ask each patient to self-report their symptoms before and after each treatment to let us know how they are progressing. You are unique – and your journey to better health must be your own!
We invite you to discuss your specific health issues and history with our qualified medical providers and get the answers you need to make an informed decision on what treatment may be right for you.
No therapy will be prescribed unless a clinical need exists and is determined based on lab work, physician medical provider consultation, and a complete and current medical history. Beginning lab work and a physical exam does not guarantee a finding of medical necessity for any treatment. No testimonial on this website is intended nor should be construed as medical advice or diagnosis.
Our HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY comes with many added benefit programs. Whether you want Free monthly Facials & Dermaplaning for a healthier, more radiant complexion, discounted Weight Loss programs, or $9 Botox units–we have a monthly package perfect for your needs.

Hypothyroidism is a condition classified by an under-active thyroid gland—when the thyroid does not produce enough hormones. There are various treatments available, but the basic concept is the same—and it’s known as thyroid hormone replacement therapy.
To best understand the purpose of thyroid hormone replacement therapy, please visit with your Provider at New Leaf. They will help you to understand the interaction of T3 and T4—the two thyroid hormones.
SYMPTOMS
Constant Fatigue
Depression
Weight Gain and Fluid Retention
Dry, Brittle Hair and Nails
Dry, Itchy Skin

High Cholesterol
Increased Sensitivity to Medication
The Purpose of Thyroid Hormone Replacement Therapy
If you are prescribed a form of thyroid hormone replacement therapy, the goal is to compensate for the lack of hormone secreted by your thyroid gland. In most cases, you will take a daily dose of T3 and/or T4 in a pill taken orally.
But it’s important to understand that every patient’s therapy will be different. There’s no cookie-cutter dosage or treatment plan when it comes to thyroid hormone replacement therapy. How the body absorbs the hormones, along with the amount of hormones it needs, is so varied. As such, you should expect some degree of experimentation when it comes to finding the dosage and form of therapy that works best for you.
Thyroid hormone replacement therapy is a very individualized treatment process, and it is highly effective when prescribed properly. The goal of thyroid hormone replacement therapy, in most cases, is to normalize your thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels. You and your Provider at New Leaf will discuss what treatment option will best alleviate your hypothyroid symptoms, allowing you to live a healthy, normal life.
“The thyroid gland is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located in the base of the neck just below the Adam’s apple. Although relatively small, the thyroid gland influences the function of many of the body’s most important organs, including the heart, brain, liver, kidneys and skin.” – Dr. Robert Sieman

What Should I Expect?
Bioidentical Hormones are structurally the same as hormones produced naturally by your body. Your body’s receptors receive them the same as the hormones your body produced. Bioidentical Hormones, such as estradiol and testosterone, are manufactured in a compounding pharmacy which produces pellets in customized dosages. Compounded medications are not regulated by and not approved by the FDA. Compounding pharmacies are also not FDA regulated or approved.
Reaching your optimal hormone balance with natural hormone therapy takes time and experience and may not be fully optimized with the first treatment. Your hormones are tested periodically over the course of your treatment and our physicians and nursing staff listen carefully to your feedback to ensure that you are getting the best treatment plan we can provide you. During this process, any hormone imbalances that may occur can cause side effects. In some cases, these side effects may mimic the symptoms you were trying to get relief from or may be worse.
Our goal for you is to achieve balanced, optimized health. This is a discussion that is best had between you and your medical provider. Many clinics and manufacturers may make outlandish claims, but it is important for you to gather all the facts and make an informed decision. This is a journey and a process – but we are here with you every step of the way and our medical training and experience will be put to work for your benefit.
Risks and Side Effects of Hormone Replacement Therapy
Knowledge about the safety and effectiveness of hormone therapy is rapidly changing. At New Leaf Wellness, we feel it is important you have information about the potential risks and benefits of hormone therapy before you undertake our bioidentical hormone therapy program.
Women
Synthetic Menopause Hormone Treatment (“MHT”), which is FDA approved, is often prescribed to women during peri-menopause (the time before and after your last period when symptoms occur) and menopause (the time of last period onward) for symptoms of hot flashes, vaginal dryness, loss of libido, depression, anxiety, irritability or PMS-like symptoms, bone loss and osteoporosis or its prevention, and cardiovascular disease. Since the Women’s Health Initiative study, it has been understood that synthetic hormone treatment may increase the risk of cancer, heart attacks, blood clotting or strokes.
New Leaf Wellness does NOT use or prescribe synthetic estradiol, progesterone or testosterone hormone treatments. Instead, our medical and wellness centers use only bioidentical hormone therapy to help our patients achieve ideal hormonal balance that improves their feeling of well-being.
Bioidentical Hormone Therapy involves use of compounded estradiol, progesterone and testosterone in customized dosages and combinations to meet the specific needs of each patient to achieve ideal hormone balance. We have observed side effects from Bioidentical Hormone Therapy including, but not limited to: Hair growth, acne, lowering of voice, and breast tenderness or enlargement as their hormone levels adjust. As with any therapy, we use the experience of qualified medical professionals to help each patient get the best treatment and care available.
Goals
At New Leaf Wellness, we are committed to your health and well-being. Our goal is to balance your hormones using bioidentical hormones to reduce your symptoms. Assessment of medical processes can change, so it is important to discuss NHT with your doctor regularly. As scientific evidence increases, recommendations may change.

Our Comprehensive Natural Hormone Therapy is a time-release pellet. We prefer this method for a couple of reasons. First, you only need a treatment every 4 months or so. This way you don’t have to keep putting on smelly and oily creams or remembering painful injections. Get it and forget it! You get your treatment and get back to your life.
Secondly, with pellet therapy we seek a more consistent release of hormones unlike the highs and lows of instant injections or other methods which peak and valley from day to day or week to week. Balance is the key to life – and the key to happiness in hormone therapy.
What does “natural hormone therapy” mean?
It means that our hormones are derived from yam and soy plants. We do not offer or use synthetic hormones of any type in our treatments.
How much does it cost?
Our Natural Hormone Therapy is unique for each individual. Like most medical care, there is careful screening and history that must be considered for qualification into the program. Once accepted, our therapy generally runs less than 200.00 per month to maintain.
Is it covered by insurance? Do you file it for me?
This is a difficult question to answer, because we live in a day and age where each policy is different. After deductibles are met, we find that many of our patients receive reimbursement at some level from their insurance company. How much? It is literally different for each patient – even from the same insurance provider. We do issue each patient an insurance reimbursement form with all the information to apply for the reimbursement and we answer all requests for more information from your insurance company, if needed. We do not file insurance on your behalf, but we provide the form for you to easily submit.
