Making The Right Choice
When considering WHO will do your hormone replacement – you want a LEADER in the field. With that in mind, New Leaf Wellness has done over 50,000 hormone replacement treatments. Always ask the provider you are considering how many patients they have treated and what their training is for this type of treatment. Are you getting your hormones treated by a doctor who best treats colds and common illnesses, or one who specializes in how hormones interact with your body and has helped thousands of people just like you get better?
Many believe hormone imbalance only affects women. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.
Male hormone levels typically decline 1-2% annually, meaning by their mid 40’s, most men have lost almost half their prime hormone levels. While most people are familiar with menopause, many may not recognize that men may suffer from similar symptoms when they reach andropause as their hormones decline to lower levels.
Stress, life events, and other factors can also alter a man’s hormone levels. Over time, many men feel a change in their bodies too. Perhaps a loss of muscle mass, or the “mid-line drift”, or other symptoms from hormone deficiency.
Options for Treating Hormone Depletion
So what do you do about it? Can you make your body begin to make the hormones back the way it used to? If only it was that simple…
Our therapy is personally designed to restore and rebalance your hormones to the levels appropriate for your life and health; not just the levels for a mid-life or senior adult. Our hormones are derived from natural plants. We do not offer or use synthetic testosterone hormones in our therapy.
We ask each patient to self-report their symptoms before and after each treatment to let us know how you are progressing. There is no shortcut to unique health solutions – your journey is just for you.
Reaching your ideal hormone balance with natural hormone therapy takes time and experience and may not be fully realized with the first treatment. Your hormone levels are tested periodically over the course of your treatment. Our physicians and nursing staff listen carefully to your feedback to ensure you are getting the best treatment plan we can provide you. During this process, any hormone imbalances that occur may cause side effects. In some cases, these side effects may mimic the symptoms you were trying to get relief from or may be worse.
This is a journey and a process – we are here with you every step of the way and our medical training and experience will be put to work for your benefit.
No therapy will be prescribed unless clinical need exists and is determined based on lab work, physician consultation and a complete and current medical history. Beginning lab work and a physical exam does not guarantee a finding of medical necessity for any treatment. No testimonial on this website is intended nor should be construed as medical advice or diagnosis.
Hypothyroidism is a condition classified by an under-active thyroid gland—when the thyroid does not produce enough hormones. There are various treatments available, but the basic concept is the same—and it’s known as thyroid hormone replacement therapy.
To best understand the purpose of thyroid hormone replacement therapy, please visit with your Provider at New Leaf. They will help you to understand the interaction of T3 and T4—the two thyroid hormones.
- Constant Fatigue
- Weight Gain and Fluid Retention
- Dry, Brittle Hair and Nails
- Dry, Itchy Skin
- Muscle or Joint Pain/Stiffness
- Sensitivity to Cold
- Slow Pulse
- High Cholesterol
- Increased Sensitivity to Medication
The Purpose of Thyroid Hormone Replacement Therapy
If you are prescribed a form of thyroid hormone replacement therapy, the goal is to compensate for the lack of hormone secreted by your thyroid gland. In most cases, you will take a daily dose of T3 and/or T4 in a pill taken orally.
But it’s important to understand that every patient’s therapy will be different. There’s no cookie-cutter dosage or treatment plan when it comes to thyroid hormone replacement therapy. How the body absorbs the hormones, along with the amount of hormones it needs, is so varied. As such, you should expect some degree of experimentation when it comes to finding the dosage and form of therapy that works best for you.
Thyroid hormone replacement therapy is a very individualized treatment process, and it is highly effective when prescribed properly. The goal of thyroid hormone replacement therapy, in most cases, is to normalize your thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels. You and your Provider at New Leaf will discuss what treatment option will best alleviate your hypothyroid symptoms, allowing you to live a healthy, normal life.
“The thyroid gland is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located in the base of the neck just below the Adam’s apple. Although relatively small, the thyroid gland influences the function of many of the body’s most important organs, including the heart, brain, liver, kidneys and skin.” – Dr. Robert Sieman
Andropause, also called “male menopause,” is caused by a gradual loss of hormones (mainly testosterone) as men age. Andropause can make your daily life feel like an uphill battle.
These days, men are living longer, more active lives. Because of this, they are seeking to find optimal performance for their bodies. Relief from the serious symptoms of andropause is possible with New Leaf’s Comprehensive Natural Hormone Therapy.

Male menopause or andropause refers to a gradual decline of the hormone, testosterone, over a period of time. Women go through menopause fairly quickly whereas men have more gradual and less obvious changes so the symptoms may not be recognized and can build up over time. Some potential negative effects of andropause include:

What Should I Expect?
Natural hormones are structurally the same as hormones produced naturally by your body. Your body’s receptors receive them the same as the hormones your body produced. Natural hormones are manufactured in a compounding pharmacy which produces pellets in customized dosages.
Reaching your optimal hormone balance with natural hormone therapy takes time and experience and may not be fully optimized with the first treatment. Your hormones are tested periodically over the course of your treatment and our physicians and nursing staff listen carefully to your feedback to ensure that you are getting the best treatment plan we can provide you. During this process, any hormone imbalances that may occur can cause side effects. In some cases, these side effects may mimic the symptoms you were trying to get relief** from or may be worse.
We are here for you. We have extensive experience with this therapy and our team will stand behind you 100%. This is a journey and a process – but we are here with you every step of the way and our medical training and experience will be put to work for your benefit.
Risks and Side Effects of Hormone Replacement Therapy
Knowledge about the safety and effectiveness of hormone therapy is rapidly changing. At New Leaf Wellness, we feel it is important you have information about the potential risks and benefits of hormone therapy before you undertake our natural hormone therapy program.
Compounded medications and pharmacies are not regulated by or approved by the FDA.
Synthetic testosterone treatment is often prescribed to men at various ages for decreased sex drive, decreased sense of well-being, depression, difficulties with concentration and memory, and erectile dysfunction.
New Leaf Wellness does NOT use or prescribe synthetic testosterone hormone treatments for men. Instead, our medical and wellness centers use only natural hormone therapy.
Potential side effects for men utilizing natural hormone therapy may include, but are not limited to: Acne, male pattern baldness, temporary fluid retention, a reduction in the size of testicles, and increased red blood cell production. Our experience with this therapy and when side effects occur is what sets us apart from other clinics doing this type of therapy “on the side”. Be sure to have the right medical professionals taking care of you.
Some manufacturers or clinics may make outlandish claims about hormone therapy. Be educated, be informed. We invite you, free of charge, to come in and talk about setting goals and expectations for hormone therapy. We encourage questions. We have a large amount of experience with this therapy and the journey of individuals who are on it. Many of our staff are patients as well. That’s important when discussing your goals and thoughts as you begin and along the way.
At New Leaf Wellness, we are committed to your health and well-being. Our goal is to balance your hormones using natural ingredients. How is the therapy different from what other doctors offer?
Our Natural Hormone Therapy is a time-release pellet. This is better for a couple of reasons. First, you only need a treatment every 4 months or so. This way you don’t have to keep putting on smelly and oily creams or remembering painful injections. Get it and forget it! You get your hormones and get back to your life.
Secondly, you get a much more consistent release of hormones unlike the highs and lows of instant injections or other methods which peak and valley from day to day or week to week. Balance is the key to life – and the key to happiness in hormone therapy.
What does “natural hormone therapy” mean?
It means that our hormones are natural, from yam and soy plants. We do not offer or use synthetic hormones of any type in our treatment. These hormone treatments are molecularly identical to the hormones your body once produced on its own.
How much does it cost?
Our Natural Hormone Therapy is unique for each individual. Like most medical care, there is careful screening and history that must be considered for qualification into the program. Once accepted, our therapy generally runs less than 240.00 per month to maintain.
Is it covered by insurance? Do you file it for me?
This is a difficult question to answer, because we live in a day and age where each policy is different. After deductibles are met, we find that many of our patients receive reimbursement at some level from their insurance company. How much? It is literally different for each patient – even from the same insurance provider. Instead of you worrying about complicated paperwork and filing for your reimbursements for services, we now take care of the filing for you at no charge. We’ll even re-submit if there is a coding error on the claim. Click the Access Claim logo to learn more.
