Hormone Therapy
Available in All LocationsMAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE
When considering WHO will do your hormone replacement - you want a LEADER in the field. With that in mind, New Leaf Wellness has done over 100,000 hormone replacement treatments. Always ask the provider you are considering how many patients they have treated and what their training is for this type of treatment.
Are you getting your hormones treated by a doctor who best treats colds and common illnesses, or one who specializes in how hormones interact with your body and has helped thousands of people just like you get better?
About Comprehensive Natural Hormone Therapy
Hormones play an important role in the balance of our lives. The fact is, most adults begin significant loss of hormones after their early 20's.
Childbirth, menopause, and time also alter women's hormone levels. Over time, you begin to notice your body changing - sometimes severe changes can occur. Hot flashes, night sweats, depression, mood swings, decreased sex drive, low energy, lack of sleep and other symptoms are common with depleted hormones.
In some patients, the depletion of hormones is so severe that lab tests can detect no measurable amount in their blood.
Options for Treating Hormone Depletion
If you have depleted hormones, what are your options? Unfortunately, there is no way to restart the engines that balance our body's hormones.
But there is good news! Our therapy is patient-specifically designed to restore and rebalance YOUR hormones to the levels that appropriate for YOUR life and health.
All hormone treatments at New Leaf are naturally derived from natural sources. New Leaf does not offer or use synthetic hormone treatments like Premarin(c) which is synthesized from conjugated horse urine.
All treatments at New Leaf are tailored to each patient expressing to us their symptoms and goals from the treatment. Adjustments are made as needed during EVERY treatment. You are unique and your journey is yours. Your best treatment isn't found on a chart - it's found between you and your medical care professionals having a meaningful discussion before each treatment.
Thyroid Replacement Therapy
Hypothyroidism is a condition that affects millions of Americans. It is caused by an under-active thyroid gland which results in insufficient hormones. There are various treatments available for Thyroid Replacement Therapy.
If you believe you may suffer from hypothyroidism, we invite you to visit with a provider at New Leaf. They can help you understand the purpose of the interactions of T3 and T4 hormones and how to determine if the therapy is right for you.
SYMPTOMS
- Constant Fatigue
- Depression
- Weight Gain and Fluid Retention
- Dry, Brittle Hair and Nails
- Dry, Itchy Skin
- Muscle or Joint Pain/Stiffness
- Constipation
- Sensitivity to Cold
- Slow Pulse
- High Cholesterol
- Increased Sensitivity to Medication
The Purpose of Thyroid Hormone Replacement Therapy
If you are prescribed a form of thyroid hormone replacement therapy, the goal is to compensate for the lack of hormone secreted by your thyroid gland. In most cases, you will take a daily dose of T3 and/or T4 in a pill taken orally.
But it's important to understand that every patient's therapy will be different. There's no cookie-cutter dosage or treatment plan when it comes to thyroid hormone replacement therapy. How the body absorbs the hormones, along with the amount of hormones it needs, is so varied. As such, you should expect some degree of experimentation when it comes to finding the dosage and form of therapy that works best for you.
Thyroid hormone replacement therapy is a very individualized treatment process, and it is highly effective when prescribed properly. The goal of thyroid hormone replacement therapy, in most cases, is to normalize your thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels. You and your Provider at New Leaf will discuss what treatment option will best alleviate your hypothyroid symptoms, allowing you to live a healthy, normal life.
"The thyroid gland is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located in the base of the neck just below the Adam's apple. Although relatively small, the thyroid gland influences the function of many of the body's most important organs, including the heart, brain, liver, kidneys and skin." - Dr. Robert Sieman
What Should I Expect?
Bioidentical Hormones are structurally the same as the hormones produced naturally by our bodies. Your body's hormone receptors receive them the same way hormones produced by your body are received.
Bioidentical Hormones are produced in compounding pharmacies. Compounded medications are created in strict conditions under guidance and licensing of state boards of pharmacy. Several standards apply to these pharmacies to assure the highest quality of the treatments they produce. Every medicine created in these pharmacies is supervised and inspected by the Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) for quality and consistency.
Reaching your optimal hormone balance with bioidentical hormone therapy takes time and experience. Often, symptom relief is felt after just one treatment. For others, it takes more time to feel the repair of the symptoms that years of depletion have caused.
While we balance your hormones, side effects may occur. Some of these side effects may mimic the symptoms you are trying to get relief from - or even seem worse.
Our goal is individual, balanced, optimized health. This is why an ongoing discussion is so important with your provider. Some clinics and manufacturers in the arena of hormone therapy may make outlandish claims, but it is important for you to gather all the facts and make an informed decision about YOU and YOUR needs.
Hormone Therapy is a journey and a process - and we are here every step of the way using our experience and medical training for your benefit as we customize YOUR plan.
Risks and Side Effects of Hormone Replacement Therapy
Knowledge about the safety and effectiveness of hormone therapy is rapidly changing. At New Leaf Wellness, we feel it is important you have information about the potential risks and benefits of hormone therapy before you undertake our bioidentical hormone therapy program.
Synthetic Menopause Hormone Treatment (“MHT”), which is FDA approved, is often prescribed to women during peri-menopause (the time before and after your last period when symptoms occur) and menopause (the time of your last period onward) for symptoms of hot flashes, vaginal dryness, loss of libido, depression, anxiety, irritability or PMS-like symptoms, bone loss and osteoporosis or its prevention, and cardiovascular disease. Since the Women's Health Initiative study, it has been understood that synthetic hormone treatment may increase the risk of cancer, heart attacks, blood clotting or strokes.
New Leaf Wellness does NOT use or prescribe synthetic estradiol, progesterone or testosterone hormone treatments. Instead, our medical and wellness centers use only bioidentical hormone therapy to help our patients achieve ideal hormonal balance that improves their feeling of well-being.
Bioidentical Hormone Therapy involves use of compounded estradiol, progesterone and testosterone in customized dosages and combinations to meet the specific needs of each patient to achieve ideal hormone balance. We have observed side effects from Bioidentical Hormone Therapy including, but not limited to: Hair growth, acne, lowering of voice, and breast tenderness or enlargement as hormone levels adjust. As with any therapy, we use the experience of qualified medical professionals to help each patient get the best treatment and care available. A more comprehensive discussion of side effects and risks based on your own medical history and current medical care is best done with a provider to address any concerns and make sound decisions for your care.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the therapy different from what my OB/GYN or other doctor offers?
Our Comprehensive Natural Hormone Therapy is a time-release pellet. We prefer this method for a couple of reasons. First, you only need a treatment every 4 months or so. This way you don't have to keep putting on smelly and oily creams or remembering painful injections. Get it and forget it! You get your treatment and get back to your life.
Secondly, with pellet therapy we seek a more consistent release of hormones unlike the highs and lows of instant injections or other methods which peak and valley from day to day or week to week. Balance is the key to life - and the key to happiness in hormone therapy.
What does “natural hormone therapy” mean?
It means that our hormones are derived from yam and soy plants. We do not offer or use synthetic hormones of any type in our treatments.
How much does it cost?
Our Natural Hormone Therapy is unique for each individual. Like most medical care, there is careful screening and history that must be considered for qualification into the program. Once accepted, our therapy generally runs less than 200.00 per month to maintain.
Is it covered by insurance? Do you file it for me?
This is a difficult question to answer because we live in a day and age where each policy is different. After deductibles are met, we find that some of our patients receive reimbursement at some level from their insurance company. How much? It is different for each patient - even from the same insurance provider. We do issue each patient an insurance reimbursement form with all the information to apply for the reimbursement and we answer all requests for more information from your insurance company, if needed. We do not file insurance on your behalf, but we provide the form for you to easily submit.
**No therapy will be prescribed unless clinical need exists and is determined based on lab work, medical provider consultation and a complete and current medical history. "I love NLW, and I'm very glad I started treatment with them. I knew something wasn't right with my hormones, and I was provided with so much in depth information that I was unaware of before. It's only been a couple of months for me, but I can't express enough how much better I already feel!"

More Testimonials
"Almost a year ago I was in a place that I was not feeling like myself. I was fatigued, had brain fog, low energy, and absolutely just in a rut with myself! Sleep was so deprived, that my gym workouts struggled. It was when I met Brenda at a grocer association meeting and we got to talking about working out and women's health. She told me about NewLeaf and what she does and to be honest I had researched natural hormones before but never did anything until meeting Brenda. She changed my life in so many ways that I'm grateful for meeting her, her passion for people certainly shines through with her desire to help others feel well! I would highly recommend New Leaf Wellness it has helped me and can help you too! Don't be embarrassed, as your health is so worth it!"
Lori P., Under Care of New Leaf Wellness Providers
"You were right!!! At my consultation, when I expressed my low expectations of receiving much benefit from the hormone therapy, you smiled and said, “I'll see what you say in a month.” I am very happy to report that I feel so much better since getting my first implant and taking the additional oral meds! I feel like a different person! I sleep much better, the night sweats are gone, my mental state is greatly improved, and my libido is that of a teenager! My husband says he would sell the car and walk everywhere if that's what it takes financially for me to keep getting the treatment. I wish I could have started treatment 18 years ago after having my ovaries removed and avoided all those years of misery. Now, I am on a mission to tell any woman who will listen to me (especially younger women) that they should seriously consider getting treatment, sooner rather than later, if they are experiencing symptoms of hormone imbalance/deficit. As you can tell from all the exclamation marks, I am one very satisfied client!"
